The Importance Of Integrity In Your Life

A person may develop mistrust in someone if that someone promises something and does not follow through. This loss of trust may go beyond the individual who have broken the promise and the betrayed may wrongly project that mistrust to other people. Based on this logic, the fabric and health of a society can be affected.

The lack or loss of integrity is therefore, a double-edged sword where it cuts both receiver and the giver. Depending on the strength of the word of the person who promised, the person who got betrayed may no longer trust, work or trade with the giver of the promise. Both people have lost As a result. If the repercussions of the betrayal are felt beyond these two individuals, several people may be affected.

When it comes to personal relationships, a broken word may extend beyond the loss of trust, it may come with a deep hurt inflicted on the person who was misled. The vows of marriage, for instance, are alleged to be sacred. The emotional and personal cost for breaking these vows can devastate one or both parties, depending upon the level of love they have for each other, which is actually the heart and soul of all personal relationships and not the vows. But I digress. If an estranged couple has kids, it can be potentially devastating for these children. Lives will be affected by a family breakup, or may at least create an atmosphere of mistrust between the heads of the household. Sadly, things like this happen all the time.

In the world of business, the word of a person carries a lot of weight. If a person fails to be true to his word, it is very doubtful he can continue to conduct business successfully with others. Personal contacts will be severed and credit lines, which are so valuable in the business world, can be lost.

At every aspect and level of society, integrity is very important. The very fabric of a society will start to collapse without integrity. What is a human being without integrity? A woman without integrity would be like a cheap woman, who gives herself to someone who made her feel good at the spur of the moment while someone she previously gave her word to, who stuck with her through good and bad times over many years, doesn’t even know he is being betrayed. Without integrity a person might as well die. If that person is not a psychopath, he or she eventually will feel a loss of respect for himself or herself. That person may even begin to believe herself or himself to be worthless when the light of truth dawns on him/her.

Integrity, therefore, is a very important trait that should be cultivated. Try to be a truthful and good person.

Integrity is, in fact, a virtue that has been taught throughout history. In the modern age, the founder of Falun Dafa more commonly known as Falun Gong, which is a form of meditation practice, has been promoting the virtues of Veracity, Empathy, and Tolerance for several decades. For him, integrity is an all-important trait. This is to be expected since anyone can find the importance and concept of integrity a shared aspect of all positive philosophies throughout history. Didn’t the most honorable people hold integrity as the most important part of their character?

Integrity is way more than a concept. It is an important and required character trait if you want to have any lasting success in this world. Unfortunately, there are some people who manage to become successful through an extreme lack of ethics, morals, and integrity. However, their lives are like a house whose foundation is built on sand, which is bound to collapse sooner rather than later.

Even if you are a person who doesn’t believe in a life after death, the commonsensical reasons for integrity are evident in everyday life. If you act with integrity, people will definitely notice. You will reap rewards in your personal life and business dealings. For those lacking this virtue, a world of pain and a loss of status await them.
